An Optimal Energy Management System (EMS) for Residential and Industrial Microgrids

This research presents an optimal scheme for the integration of renewable resources with utility grid to minimize operational cost residential and industrial microgrids. With changing paradigm solar photovoltaic in low-voltage distribution networks, utilities have allowed net metering feed-in tariff (FiT). These incentives encourage consumers contribute toward energy generation. However, conventional mode, system may underperform if are not scheduled optimally. To compensate price difference during off-peak on-peak hours, should be taken from when electricity prices lower supplied is higher. The proposed models will therefore allow resource utilization considering intermittent generation as well a time-varying tariff. A complete comparative analysis on-grid off-grid was carried out. results indicate that daily average saving about 32.0% by using scheme, where available.
